Founder's Story

I am a domestic violence survivor. On December 14th I almost lost my life. I was with someone that I thought loved me but, after so many different times being abused and continuos threats, I started feeling that was not real love. It started with verbal abuse, then it transitioned into sexual and physical abuse. It was a nightmare especially when he started abusing my children.

I knew I wasn’t safe and I did not want my children to grow up without a mother. The thought of them growing up to possibly become an abuser just like him because of what they saw so frequently was terrifying. Therefore, I asked him for a divorce. Filled with rage he told me if I leave, he’s going to kill himself. He threatened to take my children away from me when he realized I called an attorney. I was very afraid, and on December 14th, I saw his true rage. He was so mad that he almost killed me.

He beat me so bad I had to play dead for him to stop and on top of it all, he drugged me. I woke up days later and still went to work because I did not want to lose my job. While I was at work I received a phone call from the police department letting me know that I am not authorized to go back to the house. He made up a story that I was trying to kill my children with a knife. Due to the complexity of how he lied on me to the police, I was forced to leave without my children. After all that he still ended up taking my children which I had to fight for. It was hard being homeless, not having any place to live, and I could not find any help from any organization (to help get my children back). If it was not for God’s help and my family, I would have lost my wonderful children.

While enduring all of the different types of abuse, I made a promise to The Most-High God our Heavenly Father during a fervent Prayer like

(” Please Heavenly Father, do not leave me alone, I need strength and Moral Courage, I promise if you stand by me and help me come out this situation, I will go everywhere Praise your name and Come back to fight for those who are facing the same situation as me”).

Finally, with the Priceless God and my family’s help, I am a survivor.

I was given my lovely children Bryan, Imhotep, Ka’Lliyah, and Simon back.

To show my gratitude to Heavenly Father and my family I came up with the foundation and named it BIKS Kids Foundation, with the First Letter of my children’s names (Bryan Imhotep KaLliyah Simon Kids Foundation ) who are survivors as well.

This organization will serve other survivors who have gone through all of the battery, abuse, neglect, headaches, hardships, financial situations and any form of domestic violence to become empowered and successful.
